Getting a handle on discomfort.

At some point in life most will have to deal with discomfort, either temporary or
for an extended period of time. Discomfort can greatly diminish quality of life.

Being depressed or worried can actually increase the intensity. It has been found
that many things can help relieve the intensity including pleasant music and inhaling
pleasant aromas.

It is said that at any given time about 40% of Americans or 100 million people are
dealing with chronic pain. Many will suffer for decades. Chronic pain affects more
people than cancer, heart disease, and diabetes combined.

Many go to the doctor seeking relief but have not been able to find it here. Some
75% to 85% of people get no benefit at all from even what are considered the best
pain drugs and those who do say they have had benefit don't usually achieve much
benefit.

Drug companies have spent billions in this area. Right now there is an opioid crisis.
Opioids are painkillers that act much like heroin does and they come from the same
addictive source. A promotional video produced by one drug company featured a
doctor who specializes in treating pain. He looked straight into the camera and
claimed that opioids were safe and hardly ever addictive. Too many doctors are
paid lots of money to prescribe drugs by the drug companies.

Between 1999 and 2014 approximately a quarter of a million Americans died from
opioid overdoses. The cost to the economy has been estimated at over $500 billion
a year in lost earnings, medical treatments, and criminal proceedings. Now drug
companies produce drugs for the side effects from opioids so they profit from the
cause and the supposed cure. Every year more Americans die from opioids than
do in car crashes.

Due to this many have searched for a more natural approach to handle discomfort.
Here are a few ideas:
* Look for the cause. Much is due to inflammation so look to changing your diet.
Many things that people consume are inflammatory.
* Drink more pure water. Oftentimes dehydration can cause discomfort.
* Diffuse pure essential oils which can have a very positive impact on emotions.
* Give the body the proper nutrition. Many challenges are due to lack of proper
nutrition.
* Clean up the products you use. Eliminate toxins and replace them with toxin
free products. A build-up of toxins in the body can cause discomfort.
* Move more as moving the body can help to lessen discomfort. This may be
challenging in the beginning but as you progress with more and more movement
you will see improvement. Take this slowly and increase a little bit each day.
* Work on releasing negative emotions which get stored in the body. Releasing
them has helped many to see improvements physically with many challenges.
